Over 500 people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds gathered at the Melbourne Park in Nottingham on Saturday 9th July 2022 to enjoy the Afro Beats in the Park and the Family Fun Day Event.
The fun filled event was organised by the African Corner Notts in partnership with other bodies, including the Yorubas of Nottingham Nottinghamshire (YONN), Nottingham City Council, ACN Network Nottingham, Shifting Your Mindset, BRAAI King, Luyando Community Services, Wonderful Way CIC, and Shaping Creative Mind.
The event was loaded with good music with sumptuous meals and good drinks readily available.
Some of the music genre that were featured at the event included Amapiano, Kizomba, Fuji, Afro Pop, Salsa, and many more.
The highlights of the Family Fun Day Event included the socialising and having fun by the attendees, listening to music, and dining together, interacting with one another positively in building the community together. There was good music with performing artists encouraged to come on the stage live. There was dancing competition which also made the day very interesting. The kids were entertained with good music and different games with two massive bounty Castles.
There was a barbecue, refreshments, scones, and ice cream to keep the attendees fed and watered in the sunshine. The adults, including the kids, were served with snacks, foods, and drinks. Many guests also brought picnics and invited friends and family to join them to dine and wine.
The Afro Beats Family Fun Day event was really a successful programme as it was indeed a fun-packed day for the whole family in the community.
The YONN Officers and Members are happy to have been part of this year’s Afro Beats Family Fun Day Event and we look forward to enjoying the great event in greater dimension next session.
