Membership Categories
Membership Categories of the Yorubas of Nottingham Nottinghamshire (YONN) include the Members by Default, Registered Members, Associate Members, and the Honorary Members.
Members by Default
By default, all Yorubas above 18 years old living, working, and/or studying in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, irrespective of their socio=cultural inclination, are members of the Yorubas of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire (YONN).
Registered Members
YONN Registered Members are Yoruba people living, working, or studying in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire who are duly registered as members of the Association and whose memberships of YONN have not either lapsed or been terminated; and who have consented to make contributions and/or donations periodically to support the Association.
Associate Members
Associate members are the Yoruba people who are above 18 years living, working, or studying outside Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, including people who live outside the United Kingdom, who have interest in the Association and its activities. An Associate member may or may not be a Registered Member.
Honorary Members
Honorary membership can be conferred on individuals, whether they are Yorubas or not, because of their achievements in the society in different fields of human endeavours including politics, religions, administration, etc. The honorary titles include the Patron, Matrons and Special Advisers. An Honorary member may or may not be a registered member.
Patrons/Matrons
Patrons/Matrons are credible and illustrious men and women living within or outside Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, including those who live outside the United Kingdom, who have accepted to lend their names and support to the Association. Generally, Patrons and Matrons are not Directors or Executive committee members, so they do not attend Board or Executive committee meetings and do not carry any responsibilities or liabilities. They may or may not be registered members.
Special Advisers
YONN Special Advisers provide expertise on a range of issues, and they help the Executives and the Directors to develop policy frameworks, projects, activities, and events.
